Assalamualaikum & hello everyone! I’m Emy, a 25-year-old Bruneian, and I’m thrilled to share my journey with you as the founder of Sisters of Scarfs (SOS).

Creating the perfect hijab has always been my dream, and I knew it would be a huge task. I dedicated months to search for the ideal materials and fabrics to craft the best headscarves for our local community. I meticulously tested each scarf before every release, ensuring they were breathable, comfortable, washable, durable, and, most importantly, easy to shape!

In November 2021, I proudly launched my very first SOS Collection, The Reveuse Collection. This collection truly represents the essence of Sisters of Scarfs, and I can’t wait for you to experience the love and care that went into each piece. Thank you for joining me on this journey!

 

When did you start SOS?
I started Sisters of Scarfs in 2020 while I was a degree student in Malaysia during COVID-19. Now, in 2025, I continue to develop the brand as a master's student, balancing my studies with my passion for creating meaningful and stylish headscarves. This journey has allowed me to grow both academically and personally, as I navigate the complexities of higher education while pursuing my entrepreneurial dreams.
 

What inspired you to start Sisters of Scarfs?
My journey to create Sisters of Scarfs was fueled by a heartfelt desire to bring something special to my community! As a hijab-wearing woman myself, I often faced the challenge of finding headscarves that perfectly balanced comfort, style, and practicality, especially since I love wearing them without pins!

 

I realized there was a gap in the market for high-quality, versatile hijabs that could cater to various styles and occasions. This sparked my mission to discover the ideal materials and fabrics, ensuring that every woman can feel confident and comfortable in her hijab, no matter the moment. On top of that, all scarves are tailored locally, by my aunt!

 

At Sisters of Scarfs, we’re all about more than just fashion; we’re here to empower women to express their unique individuality while embracing their beautiful identities. I’m excited to create a brand that resonates with our community’s values and celebrates the stunning diversity in style!
